At Christopher Peters, we have a passion for making your interior dreams a reality. Our skills, experience and craftsmanship ensure that every element of your project is completed to perfection. And it’s not just about design – we’re committed to transforming your space into something that truly reflects you and what you need from your home.
To help you get to know us a bit better, we’re going to introduce some members of our team. Today, we catch up with the couple behind Christopher Peters: Grace and Will. We find out about how they came to run Christopher Peters, what a typical day at work looks like for them, and what they get up to outside of their roles here.
How long have you been at Christopher Peters and what did you do before?
Will: We took over Christopher Peters in 2019, when the original owners decided to retire. Having worked closely with them as a trusted supplier, they knew I would be able to carry on the brand’s legacy. I’ve been fitting and designing kitchens, bathrooms and other interiors for about 20 years now, and I love being able to put that experience to good use at Christopher Peters. I’ve been able to put my stamp on the business and work closely with our other designers, Nick and Will, to build our team and brand.
Grace: When we first took on Christopher Peters, I was at home looking after our children. I started working part-time to help with some invoicing, alongside childcare. Within six months I was fully involved in the business. Before working here, I was Head of Human Resources for another company. As our team here grows and evolves, I’m able to draw on a lot of my previous experience to ensure our team are supported.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Will: As lead designer, I work closely with our clients to understand their needs, creating a functional design that fits with the theme and style of their space. I often meet clients in their own homes to pick up key details about the way they use the space by seeing them in it. When I see the space in use, I get lots of ideas about how to transform it. Then I work with the design team to make them happen. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family – keeping our two young children entertained is a big job!
Grace: I lead the back-of-house team, so I work closely with Jenny, our project coordinator, and Becki, our administrator to make sure our clients receive the best possible standard of customer service. I also oversee the designers and installers, so I get to work on every project, from when we first meet the client through to completion. On a typical day, I’m based in our showroom, catching up with each of the team, responding to any queries and ensuring things run smoothly. I also go out to visit clients in their homes – so my role is really varied. Before and after work, you’ll find me on the school run or caring for our children. I’m also a keen marathon runner and my training fits in around work and family.
What makes working at Christopher Peters so special?
Will: Being able to make our clients’ dreams a reality is so rewarding and has to be my favourite part of working here. The level of craftsmanship within our team is incredible – knowing we are delivering work of the highest quality is so fulfilling. I’m a natural designer so I love being able to share this passion with the design team here, knowing they are as committed to delivering a first-class service as I am. Our furniture is truly bespoke. Each project is completely different – it keeps our work exciting and inspiring. There’s a great sense of community in Warwickshire and building relationships with other local suppliers and businesses is great.
Grace: We proudly call ourselves a family here and our work culture is part of what I love most about Christopher Peters. We all have different motivations and interests, but collectively we all work so well together to deliver the best possible service for our customers. I get to work on many different areas of the business, from client liaison and managing our team, to social media, our blogs and website. I love the variety – no two days are ever the same! Working here means I get to put my love of all things interiors to very good use.
What’s coming up at Christopher Peters in 2023?
Will: We’ve recently moved our paint shop, and we’re looking forward to also moving our workshop in the new year. Having our workshops closer to our showroom means our teams can work closely together.
Grace: We’ve got some exciting projects in the pipeline for 2023, including one that takes us back to Cheltenham, another regency town we love! We’re also going to be working on some beautiful kitchens and other interiors pieces. I’m looking forward to seeing lots of you in our showroom next year too – call in and see us!
