A Year of Renovations: Our favourite projects of 2022

As we approach the end of 2022, we’ve been reflecting on some of our favourite projects this year. Working closely with each client from design through to build, fit and aftercare, we watch each project evolve from dream to reality. Focusing on quality, practicality and design, each piece or installation is hand-built, hand-painted and entirely bespoke.

We’re proud to share just a few of those projects with you and lift the lid on what it was that we loved so much about these three projects.

Daniell Road

Project brief

Our client – a married couple – wanted a multi-purpose space that felt functional yet beautiful, with space for frequent entertaining and a home for their love of art. With two grown-up sons, these empty nesters wanted to enjoy the space once more and inject their own sense of personality into the room. Ultimately, they still wanted the kitchen to feel like it was at the heart of the home.

What we delivered

A complete renovation of the kitchen and flooring that extends to the rest of the ground floor in the four-bedroom, detached property. Bi-fold doors allow the space to be used for socialising or as a kitchen and living space.

What we love

With a keen artist in the family, their creative flair meant they already knew what colour palette was wanted. With our understanding of their vision and our bespoke range of paint colours, we quickly found the perfect shade together. As a North facing room, the pink shade complements the dark wooden dining table, bringing warmth to the space. This shade is very much on-trend at the moment but we’re proud to have utilised it in a way that remains true to Christopher Peters’ passion for all things timeless and understated.

Walnut Cottage

Project brief

Our client wanted to maximise on storage opportunities whilst retaining a functional entertainment space, that didn’t just feel like a kitchen but a welcoming room for their young family.

What we delivered

We installed a kitchen with low level units to one side and a bank of fitted units to the other, to evoke the feeling of a stylish entertaining space – and to artfully conceal a great deal of functional storage. Double sliding doors were fitted to bring in additional light and warmth. By using two complementary colours for the cupboards and island, this creates a stylish, bespoke feel but also brings some personality into the room.

What we love

For us, this is the epitome of a Christopher Peters kitchen – a functional room that fulfils all of the needs of modern, family life. It ticks all the boxes, with the soft, welcoming colour tones and the elegant touches complementing the beauty of the wooden beams and low ceilings. We really enjoyed working on this project – and the client loves the finished space just as much as we do!

The Old Post Office

Project brief

Our client wanted a stylish kitchen with an overall finish that combined classic features with a more contemporary colour palette. They were also keen to make the most of the natural light in the space and utilise the bay window to add a breakfast nook.

What we delivered

We designed and installed bold, bright navy cabinetry with contrasting yellow walls, finished with nickel hardware and a light quartz worksurface. And, at the client’s request, a curved, upholstered bench seat made perfect use of the bay window! At Christopher Peters, we’re always keen to make use of every square inch of floorspace without taking away from the overall impact of a design. The fact that the property had formerly been a post office felt all the more special to us… and these bright, primary tones certainly pack a punch!

What we love

This renovation was certainly one of the highlights of our year. The open-plan layout fulfils so many purposes and invites the homeowner and their visitors into the warm and fun space. Utilising bold tones in a period property is a fantastic way to combine the old and the new. We were so pleased to be able to work with a client that was open to playing around with bright hues. How can anyone feel glum when standing in a space that beautiful?
